Away in My Office

Sung to the tune of "Away in a Manger"

Written by the CyberFluor Christmas Committee 1988

(quick tempo)

Away in my office
No room for my feet
My desk space is shrinking
And I'm feeling the heat

The boxes are growing
The lunchroom is packed
If the shipment is late
Production is sacked

(very slow tempo)

Asleep in my office
A desk for my feet
(one person lets out a big "YAWN!")
A couch for each mood
And a view you can't beat

(medium tempo)

The boxes are showing
Don't give me no flack
Just get people working
To clear out the back

The floor plan needs changing
The blue room should too
We've doubled and tripled
Its all up to you

(Everyone looks at Jim)
"Well?"

Don't Worry, Be Happy

Sung to tune of "Don't Worry, Be Happy"

Written by Karen Conway of CyberFluor 1988

Here's a little song we wrote
You should listen to it note by note
Don't worry
Be happy

Sometimes our kits have some trouble
The patient sample comes out double
Don't Worry
Be Happy

Ain't got no time to get ahead
Plate is jammed and a laser's dead
Don't Worry
Be Happy

IFCI faxed our orders late
We'll have to ship them an empty crate
Don't Worry
Be Happy

Ain't got no cash, won't for a while
Ain't got the sales to make us smile
Don't Worry
Be Happy

Cause when you worry your face will frown
And that will bring company down
So Don't Worry
Be Happy

Fluorometer in the Lab

Sung to tune of "Winter Wonderland"

Written by Karen Conway of CyberFluor 1988

Lasers firin', hear them tickin'
On the screen, curve's a fittin'
My assay's alright
I'm happy tonight
Working with the fluorometer in the Lab

Gone away is Eletherios
Here to stay is a new boss
He eats pizza pie
And that ain't a lie
Working with the fluorometer in the lab

In the lab we're going to make a new fluor
And were going to call it EuroFluor Plus
I'll ask "Is there more?", he'll say "no more!" (point to Rob)
Scaling up is something to discuss

Later on we'll conspire
As we look for help from higher
To face unafraid
The deadlines we made
Working with the fluorometer in the lab

Voices ring, hear them chatterin'
Heard the news, its earth shatterin'
Italy called us today
hCG is okay
Working with the fluorometer in the lab

Gone away is the background
Lower sensitivity is now found
Distributors no longer should cry
Or we'll just die
Working with the fluorometer in the lab

In the lab we're making a new assay
And were going to call it T Uptake
Paul'll ask "Is it ok", Javad'll say "no way!"
It'll take years to make

When it glows, ain't it thrillin'
Tho' the channels are over fillin'
We'll work and pray
Till the assay goes our way
Working with the fluorometer in the lab

O Italy

Sung to the tune of "O Christmas Tree"

Written by Astrid Bellem of CyberFluor 1988

O Italy, O Italy
Why must you want so many kits?
O Italy, O Italy
Your shipment at the airport sits

It left on time
It got there late
We said first class
They shipped it freight
O Italy, O Italy
Your shipment at the airport sits

The Mushroom Club is Starting to Grow

Sung to the tune of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"

Written by Astrid Bellem of CyberFluor 1988

You'd better not ask, you'd better not tell,
You'd better not know, `cuz its just as well,
The mushroom club is starting to grow.
They keep us in the dark, and feed us a line
They don't say a word, and tell us it's fine.
The mushroom club is starting to grow.

We don't know where we're going
We don't know where weve been
We don't know if its bad or good
It better be good or you know what were in!

We're packing it once, we're packing it twice,
It wasn't quite right, but now it looks nice,
The mushroom club is starting to grow.

No more pregnant men
And the vendors will be paid next month

Paul promised the forecast
The protocol's changed again
And the vendors will be paid off next week

On the tenth month at CyberFluor
The board came to meet
Jim had them dazzled
Sandy did a dance

150 G's
If it works at all
And the vendors will be paid off next week

On the twelth month at CyberFluor
We got a new VP
Karen caught him smoking
(Fine him twenty bucks!)
Lefty's sort of leaving
Javad's now the man
The front desk's still empty
Year end is coming
Iris is going nuts
We need divide by tens (slow)
Rob build us more
Don't leave your room
Till all of them are done
And the vendors were paid off last week!
